Memphis Trip

Matt had a training in Memphis so we turned the trip into a mini vacation. It was a lot of fun!

Waking up from a nap in the hotel.

There were so many places to see so we took a tour of Memphis. We saw:
The National Civil Rights Museum - originally the motel where
Martin Luther King Jr was assassinated

Sun Studios - Studio where Elvis Presley made his first record. Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, and B.B. King also recorded albums here. Also the location of the "Million Dollar Quartet" jam session in 1956 - Elvis, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee, and Carl Perkins.

Sunglasses indoors - must be a future rock star

Our Memphis trip wrapped up with a visit to one of the greatest places in the U.S. - GRACELAND!!! I have wanted to visit here for years! It was amazing and even better than I imagined!

Basement TV room - Elvis had three T.V.'s tuned to the three network stations, just like the President. Matt and Brian are sitting at the bar in the TV room.

Brian sitting outside the mansion near the Meditation Garden.

Lisa Marie's swing set.

Inside the "Lisa Marie" - Elvis' private jet, mainly used for touring. The buckles on the seatbelts were gold plated. Nothing's too fancy for the King! The plane was always stocked with Lime Gatorade, Dr. Pepper, and bottled water - Elvis' favorites.

Visiting Graceland was wonderful! I will definitely be going back someday!
